Hi everyone, I’m Priscilla Watts, and I’m posting this on behalf of my friend Maddie and the whole family.
from the Family;
On February 19th Asher was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called Wilms tumor, also known as nephroblastoma. A large tumor had destroyed his right kidney. The tumor was 6 inches wide and 6-7 pound in weight. As time went by we had also learned the tumor had spread to the surrounding lymph nodes, creating cancerous tumors in those as well. He was supposed to have emergency surgery the following day, but due to him having RSV on top of everything they were not comfortable preforming surgery until that was under control. Thankfully he tested negative for RSV by Sunday so his surgery was done on Monday, February 24th. He was in surgery from 11am until 6:30 that evening. They were able to remove the tumor, surrounding lymph nodes that the cancer had spread to (about 5) and they also took out the right kidney. Based on the surgery and the PET scan that was done, he is in stage 3 of his cancer. Asher was in the PICU for 3 days. The first two days after surgery was so so hard on him. He was hallucinating terribly, in so much pain and so confused. We couldn’t be more blessed to have the medical team we have for Asher. Truly sent by God.
Asher will be receiving radiation and chemotherapy. He will have 6 days of radiation. That started today Monday, March 10th, as well as the chemo. His last day of radiation will be Monday March 17th. Asher will have chemo every week, once a week, for 26 weeks. We have a long road ahead of us. We are staying strong in our faith in God and we ask for prayers for Asher, for comfort and healing. We ask these things as we are also mindful that Gods will be done and he has already paved the way for us. Thank you to everyone for the outpouring love and support.
I know this is an extremely expensive journey, and if I can help raise money to help them financially, then I want to do everything I can possibly do alongside my prayers to this family. I thank you all for everyone that is able to donate, pray, and share this.
