A Special Father-Son Journey

Friends and Family,

We’re excited to reach out to you about an adventure we’re about to embark on: an epic father-son trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

This adventure is more than just a physical challenge—it's a journey that represents a profound coming-of-age milestone for Asher and an unforgettable opportunity for us to bond in the beauty and spirit of the outdoors.

Philmont Scout Ranch is probably the most famous scout reservation in the US—spanning 140,000 acres of rugged wilderness following the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains.

Our trek will span 65 miles in 12 days, summiting 4 peaks above 9,000 ft, the highest being Mt. Phillips at 11,736 ft. We will be pausing part way to work on a conservation project to protect the land for future generations.

Our trek is June 27—July 8.

Together with a crew from Asher’s scout troop in Williamsburg, VA, we will traverse trails, climb peaks, and navigate challenges that will test our endurance, teamwork, and resilience.

These experiences will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on Asher as he steps into greater independence and maturity. For dad, it’s a chance to guide, support, and witness Asher’s growth while creating memories we will treasure for a lifetime.

Being overseas has meant Asher hasn’t been able to participate in the usual fundraising activities with his troop in the US. Our work location and schedule of visits to the US has also added to Asher’s cost. We will be flying to the US specifically for this trip and then returning to overseas.
