My name is Arykah Tyler, and I’m an art major at NC A&T State University with a passion for storytelling, visual expression, and creative exploration. I am honored and excited to share that I have been accepted into the prestigious Château d’Orquevaux Artist Residency in Champagne-Ardenne, France. Which is one of the top art residencies in the world.

Only 20% of applicants are accepted, so this truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I have also been awarded the Denis Diderot Grant, which will be applied toward my residency fees.

From March 9–29, 2026, I will join artists from all over the world to create new work, study in a historic French château, and represent my school, my family, and my community on a global platform.

• Grow as a young Black woman artist carving out her place in the art world
