Support Arvin and Moose's Road to Recovery
Donation protected

Hello!
We are asking for help to support Arvin and Moose’s recovery. In the early morning of August 14th, Moose and Arvin were hit by a car. They were off the road, in the driveway of Triple J Auto Sales, when the driver came and hit them from behind. They landed in the middle of Oakland Ave E, and the driver did not stop. They left them lifeless and suffering in the middle of the road. Arvin is a special family friend who has helped take care of Lance's dog. For those that don’t know, Lance is my brother who died in a car accident along with his two kids and fiancée. This makes Moose extra special because he is one of the only things that we have left of my brother and his family. Arvin and Moose did not deserve for this to happen, and we will continue to fight until justice is served. The car is a dark Chrysler 200. The police found the vehicle and now are searching for the driver. They deserve the highest punishment possible. We very easily could have lost them both. If you know anyone that drives that kind of vehicle, please reach out!
Arvin is still in ICU at St. Mary’s. Arvin has a broken leg, collarbone, six ribs, a punctured lung, and three fractures on his spine. He has had multiple surgeries so far and is expected to move out of ICU on Friday. We are so thankful that he survived this. Arvin is 70 years old and has a long road to recovery. He will need special equipment when he comes home and lots of help from others. Moose has been to two emergency vets, and the second one was able to put him under and pop his hip back into place. They are not confident that it will stay in place, so he will need a sling for his hind legs to keep everything in place. He can walk on his front legs when we lift his back end up with a blanket, but he cannot walk on his own yet. Thankfully, Moose survived this. He is seven years old and has a lot of life to live! We want him to live a comfortable life, and that will take lots of time, therapy, medicine, and equipment to get him there.
We have depleted all of the resources that we have, so we are forced to ask for help if we want Arvin and Moose to have a comfortable recovery at home.
It’s been a week since the accident, and we still have a long road ahead. If you feel it in your heart to help support their recovery, thank you so much!!! We appreciate everyone’s kindness during this difficult time, and any help is appreciated. I will keep you updated on their progress and the investigation on finding the driver.
Have a great day, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the thoughts, prayers, and donations!
