Hello everyone, well where to start... My son Arturo underwent an emergency brain surgery with a craniopharyngioma back in June. This is considered to be a "slow growing tumor" but things have not been going well. Arturo had a 3 month follow up MRI on September 8th which showed that the tumor had doubled in size. The plan still, was to continue to monitor the tumor and him having radiation or another surgery when he was 20 or 21 years old. As the weeks progressed he started to have alot of pain as well as symptoms similar to the ones he had in June, we took him to the ER to be seen again. The findings where that the tumor once again doubled in size and is now creating 2 cysts, we had 2 options either radiation or another surgery to remove the cysts, tumor, and pituitary gland. There are major risks in both procedures but the least risks are having the surgery done. One major problem with radiation is that radiation would cause the cysts to inflame prompting an emergency surgery.

Arturo will be having surgery once again on November 24th at Seattle Children's Hospital and with the grace of God things will be better soon, we have faith. I ask if anyone would like to help the funds will be used for bills, as well as food and care for our other 3 children that will be home during our stay in Seattle as well as recovery time for Arturo.
