Dear Friends and Family of Arturo Muñoz, known to many as “Muskie” or Coach Muñoz, we come to you humbly asking for your support on his behalf. My name is Connie Muñoz and he is my Dad. My Dad has been diagnosed with a “high grade sarcoma of the liver,” which is a very aggressive form of cancer. Because he requires medical care from a comprehensive cancer treatment center, his local oncologist referred him to UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. This will require additional expenses to the already mounting costs of his medical care. He and his wife Lydia will incur travel, food and lodging expenses as they will be traveling back and forth between the two cities as necessary.

My father is loved by everyone he meets. He easily befriends everyone with his positive energy, his magnetic personality, his infectious smile and his big heart of gold. He has been a positive influence in so many peoples’ lives. I love hearing all the stories about what an awesome friend, inspiring teacher, amazing coach, supportive mentor, helpful neighbor, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle he is. He is the epitome of what an ambassador of goodwill is!

Watching my dad suffer through this thing called cancer saddens me and has broken my heart to pieces. I see how uncomfortable he is with all the pain he is going through, and it's emotionally devastating to me and all our family watching helplessly. But as you know, my dad is a fighter and just as he has in his career as a teacher, as a teammate playing sports, as a coach strategizing for a win, he will give it his all to bravely fight this battle. He is a winner.
