Mi Gente! My name is Mauricio Tafur Salgado, and along with Arts On Site NYC, we are co-producing the developmental workshop of an original piece called EL MENTIROSO. The show runs September 10th and 27th and features: Socorro Santiago, Damian Gomez, Raquel Chavez, Alexander Crespo-Rosario II, and me!
If you are here, it's because you know about it, but you can't make it, and you want to help by donating the cost of a student ticket ($20) or by donating the cost of a regular ticket ($30) to help us produce the premiere in the near future. Thank you! Our goal is to raise the cost of two shows' worth of tickets. That's 55 student tickets and 55 regular tickets!
Your donations for student tickets will help a student get in for free.
AND - in case its helpful to be reminded, below is a synposis of the show and the names of all the cool people involved. Remember to follow our progress at https://www.instagram.com/artsonsite/?hl=en
EL MENTIROSO is for grown-ups being bullied by childhood trauma — it’s for anyone haunted by harm. Perhaps it winks at you through the mischief of your children; pesters you in your mother’s silence, or befriends you on the toilet in the dark a-las-dos-de-la-mañana(!!) when you think everyone is asleep…
This is a 70-minute dance theater descent into the subconscious of a Fool who is desperate to extract the truth from a lie. This is an irreverent - mythological - game show - locura - fever dream about intergenerational trauma, loss of innocence, and M&M’s.
