Thank you for taking the time to stop and read a little bit about our friend Art Blakeman.

Art recently retired in 2020 to enjoy life with his wife, children and grandchildren at the age of 66. Working as a butcher most of his life and then getting into sales of butcher supplies in Sacramento Ca, he and his wife decided to move to Texas for retirement and spend their golden years together with the family.

Recently Art wasn’t feeling well, he would sneeze and ended up with nose bleeds. Upon going to a doctor they told him he had cancer and that it was blood cancer.

Art was told he may have 6 months to a year left and possibly extend a little bit more with radiation.

However, he was told there is an experimental injection he could try that could possibly continue his life, only problem is that it is not covered by insurance and it would be out of pocket for $1000.00 a month for this shot.

Being retired and living on social security, they just flat out can’t afford to pay that per month.

I am hoping we can at least raise a years worth of being able to get these shots. I am his former co worker and when I heard the news I thought this might be a good way to help him as I’ve raised money for others in need in the past.
