The 2026 Art for Democracy campaign is on! Brought to you by artists Lena Wolff and Hope Meng, this year's public art initiative prioritizes three relevant messages to boost voter participation in the midterms. As always, the posters will be distributed for free in cities across the US and billboards will be placed in districts with competitive House races. Ready-to-print files of the posters will also be made available for free use to ensure the effort is accessible to all.
Donations to the project are fully tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor SaveArtSpace (SaveArtSpace partners with artists to transform advertisement space into public art.)

2026 Text
* PROTECT DEMOCRACY, VOTE! 2026
* Stop the Chaos! VOTE! Midterms, 2026
* Protejamos a Nuestras Familias, Vota! Noviembre 2026
How the Funds are Used
Funds raised go directly to project development and production. Billboard placements this year will range from $2,000-4500 per site, depending on location. Posters are roughly $1 each to produce and in past election cycles, we have circulated over 20,000 across the country.
The more we raise, the more widely the messages will circulate!
On Poster Distribution
Democracy should not have an entry fee! The poster versions of our messages are never sold and always given away for free.
Project History
Art for Democracy began with an anti-hate poster in the City of Berkeley and has since grown to become a national public art campaign to encourage voter participation with ongoing reach across the United States. Founded by Bay Area artist Lena Wolff in 2017, the initiative is part of a broad effort to add to the visual landscape of towns and cities with invitational messages that encourage civic participation. In 2022, fellow artist and letterform designer Hope Meng joined Lena as her primary collaborator and equal partner in the project. For the past 4 election cycles, since 2018, over 100,000 posters have circulated for free in over 100 cities across the country, in addition to the installment of related billboards in swing states, free downloadable postcards to send to voters, and digital images that are widely shared on social platforms.
