Our dear friend, Art Pryde, and teaching partner of 24 years, needs some help. He is a dedicated elementary school teacher of 5th grade in Newport Beach. He resides in Huntington Beach and was diagnosed with acute leukemia in July. Since then, Art has gone through intense chemo and radiation, spending 90 days this summer and fall at the hospital.

We need $80,000-$90,000 for in-home, round-the-clock caregiving that insurance is unable to provide. He has a bone marrow transplant scheduled this week and will remain at the hospital in Duarte through Christmas and his birthday. It’s estimated that he will be there for at least 100 more days.

The doctors were able to find a 100% match from a wonderful young 22-year-old hero. We need this to work and be successful. He is important to us. He is a dedicated Christian and member of Mariners Christian. He is a decorated teacher of 25 years and has impacted children for decades locally in Corona del Mar. He is part of our family and friend, as we are his.
