Support Art and Culture

We are writing today to appeal to your generosity. The Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC) Gallery and School of Art has had one of its most successful seasons. Our D’Art for Art and Plein Air Festival events produced outstanding results and received rave reviews by you, our patrons.

The State Legislature sent news that they will be drastically cutting support for the arts.  In 2016 LAC received $90,000 from the state but in 2019 we will only receive $7,000. This year, more than ever, we are reliant on the generous contributions of our patrons and the community that we serve.

Striving for excellence we provide our public with affordable classes and admission to unique gallery showings, lunchtime lectures and Third Thursday programs. We want to continue to provide outstanding art training and camps for our children, and outreach to community schools, nursing homes, and religious and ethnic institutions.  We offer a broad selection of talented art instructors to help our members grow artistically. To continue to provide all of these programs we need to raise $90,000 by July this year.

With a 55-year tradition of serving the community, we hope the void created by the reduction in our state grant is swiftly filled by your generosity.
