Yesterday, our world changed in an instant. My husband, Arron, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident. Due to the extent of his injuries, doctors had to amputate his left leg above the knee in order to save his life. We are incredibly grateful that he is still here with us. That alone is a miracle. But this is only the beginning of a long road ahead. Arron now faces months of surgeries, healing, physical therapy, and eventually being fitted for a prosthetic.

Because he does not currently have health insurance, the medical bills will be significant — and that’s before we even begin the process of prosthetics and rehabilitation. In the meantime, I have become the sole provider for our family while also supporting him through recovery. My biggest goal right now is simple: I don’t want him worrying about bills while he’s learning how to heal and rebuild his life.

Asking for help does not come naturally to us — but sometimes community is what carries you through the hardest seasons.
