Hello, I am raising money for my darling 4 year old niece Arrianne who is facing a very challenging journey over the next year.
Arrianne was diagnosed with Sideroblastic Anemia from birth, an extremely rare blood disorder which meant requiring blood transfusions every month. She survived two blood transfusions in the womb so she really is a medical marvel.
Fast forward 4 years and she has been through more operations and procedures than most adults would do in their lifetime. She has done so with courage beyond her years and a smile on her face, charming each and every medical professional who has helped her.
Arrianne and my sister in law, Hannah are currently in hospital and have been since the beginning of the year. Arrianne has had a bone marrow transplant in the confident hope that it will give her a brighter future without the need for multiple blood transfusions, which in themselves have risks attached.
The preparation for transplant included chemotherapy and multiple medications which have all taken a toll on Arrianne's body. Even after the rigorous treatment Arrianne will be in isolation for several months regaining her strength and attending regular check ups to make sure she is free from any complications.
This fund raising page is not to pay for any medical treatment as the brilliant NHS are doing that. It is to support Hannah, Paul and Arrianne in any which way we can. Hannah has essentially had to give up work, but in true Hannah spirit she will still be working here and there from the hospital room. The loss of earnings over the next year will be hugely impactive on them as a family, as it would be to anyone. My brother in law Paul is trying to work doubly hard to provide for the family, whilst also being safe enough to visit Arrianne at least twice a week.
This money would help with all manner of things such as loss of earnings, travel expenses and covering all the unknown costs of supporting a child through significant medical treatment. It could even contribute to future experiences for Arrianne, for rehabilitation and just some good old fashioned fun as she certainly deserves it!
I am in awe of my in laws seeing how they have handled every set back, challenge and development. They remain optimistic that this short term pain is going to be a long term reward.
I am sure many of you, as family and friends or maybe even strangers of Paul, Hannah and Arrianne, feel helpless in this situation. Giving a little money could elevate a small bit of stress on them as a family whilst they go through the most challenging months of their lives.
Our little Arrianne deserves the world. She is bright, funny and courageous and we support her, Paul and Hannah unconditionally.
