My name is Kristine and I am initiating this campaign on behalf of my nephew, Arno Ghazaryan, who is 22 years old and lost both of his legs below the knees from a shrapnel shell during the 44- day war in Armenia in 2020. Nine months into his service, Arno actively participated in defending his country from an attack by Azerbaijan, which included the use of attack drones, shelling, and special operations activities. On October 1, 2020, he suffered a tragic loss of many friends and, devastatingly, lost both of his legs due to shelling. Immediate first aid was administered on-site, after which he was transferred to Martuni hospital where subsequent surgeries were performed on his legs. Two days later, he underwent another surgery and ultimately received his prosthetic legs. His current prosthetics are rudimentary and pose numerous challenges in his daily activities, impacting the quality of his life. Walking and navigating stairs have become persistent challenges for him. Descending stairs is particularly problematic, walking at a brisk pace is not feasible and prolonged periods on his feet result in quick fatigue, accompanied by gradual discomfort and pain. Additionally, the discomfort intensifies in hot weather, leading to profuse sweating and making walking more challenging. The challenge is that because of the size and shape of the residual limb (the remaining part of the limb after amputation) Arno is having more difficulties and needs better fitted and quality prosthetics. Kindly lend your support in assisting my nephew to walk again and improve the quality of his life by replacing his current uncomfortable prosthetics.
100% of the proceeds will go towards prosthetics.
