Unexpectedly, amidst the holiday season, Armando—my beloved youngest son—experienced a rapid decline in his health. After a visit to Mission Community Hospital, doctors found a tumor growing inside Armando’s brain. He bravely underwent surgery to remove it. Although the operation, God willing, was largely successful, it is only the first step in what will be a lifelong fight for him.
The tumor is classified as aggressive, and there is a real and present risk that it could grow back. Armando will live out the rest of his life disabled in some capacity—his speech and mobility already affected by the brain surgery. He now faces a long road of ongoing treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation. With his future and the possibility for employment now uncertain, we are doing everything we can to ensure he has the care and support he needs.
Before his diagnosis, Armando worked as a phlebotomy technician and was recognized for his outstanding patient care and pursuit of excellence. He was awarded for being the best in patient care skills and was a valued member of his team. Armando also worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant, always showing compassion and dedication to those he cared for. His commitment to helping others has touched many lives, and it is heartbreaking to see his career interrupted by this illness. At his core, Armando has always poured himself into caring for those around him. Now, in this time of need, we hope that same kindness and support can be returned to him.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards Armando's medical expenses and his future living expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate at this time, simply sharing Armando’s story with others would also mean so much to us.
Armando and our family would like to thank you for all your support, kindness, and generosity during this sudden hardship. It is truly in our shared strength, hope, and prayers that we can navigate this new landscape of Armando's life with the same light as he has always led it with. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
