Armando has been a part of this community for most of his life. He came to the United States as a child and has spent years working hard, supporting his family, and showing up for the people around him. To those who know him, Armando is more than a coworker or neighbor—he is family. To my dad, he is like a brother, and to many others he holds that same place in their lives.
We are raising funds to support Armando and his family during an incredibly difficult time after he was detained by ICE. As the primary provider for his household, his detention has left his family without the financial and emotional support they depend on every day.
Armando has been actively navigating the legal pathways toward citizenship, but as many know, the immigration process can be long, complex, and expensive. Right now, the situation is even more challenging. Immigration attorneys are overwhelmed with cases, and despite many attempts—and thousands of dollars already spent—we have not yet been able to secure legal representation for him.
In addition to legal fees, funds are needed to help support his family and to cover the costs required for him to stay in contact with loved ones while detained. Recently, Armando also experienced a medical emergency in the ICE facility due to inadequate care, which has added even more concern and urgency for his wellbeing.
Armando has spent years giving to the people around him—working physically demanding jobs, helping support family members, and being a steady presence in his community. Now he needs his community to show up for him.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps support Armando, his legal fight, and the family who is waiting for him to come home.
Thank you for standing with Armando.
