Support Armando & Xavier's Healing Journey
Donation protected
Our lives as we knew it was changed forever on the early morning hours of November 10th, when my husband Armando and eldest son Xavier were victims of gun violence. By the Grace of God and the quick work of the countless surgeons and medical staff they are still with us and continue to fight to live.
We have been asked by so many to set this page up to help financially with the long road ahead. I’d like to extend my most profound gratitude to everyone that has reached out via email, chat, text, calls and in person. On behalf of myself and my entire family, Thank you! We have all felt your love, strength, friendship, and prayers. I truly believe they have as well.
So where are we now today:
Xavier is currently well ahead on his journey of recovery. After multiple head surgeries and procedures, he is finally off the ventilator and breathing on his own. We our so grateful to our Heavenly Father that he is alert, talking, and as of a few days been able to drink and eat on his own! Xavier has expressed his love and appreciation for everyone! As we celebrate his progress, we understand his road to recovery is not yet over. He will still need to have a few more cranial procedures as well as having the trach and feeding tube removed. We are looking to place him in the best possible rehabilitation facility that best meets his needs.
Armando remains strong and makes small strides every day that he is with us. With 2 head injuries we understand his road to recovery will be an even lengthier one. Through multiple surgeries, procedures, and infections, Armando has persevered and is also breathing on his own, and from time to time has opened his eyes for us on command. We continue by his side, and with the love, support and prayers, keep strong that he will awaken and in his very competitive nature make strides to “catch up” to Xavier. We are currently in the process of looking for the best possible Acute long term care facility and rehabilitation program to meet his current needs.
I once again thank each one of you. Your support and kindness are so appreciated. I want to thank you for the prayers, the words of support and encouragement. For the countless hospital visits to chat with them both and let them know how much they are loved, missed, and needed.
"O Holy St. Jude, you witnessed the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ and experienced His compassion for the sick and dying. We humbly ask you to intercede on behalf of Armando and Xavier, who is currently suffering from [illness], and to bring their petition before Almighty God, asking that He bestow His saving grace to heal their sickness and suffering. Through your intercession, may Christ uplift their spirits and inspire hope in their hearts. Amen."
