Well hello there!! Thanks for taking the time to read about my journey. Before we start, may God bless you as well as He’s been keeping me this far!
My name is Arlin, I’m 32 years old, and I was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma in July 2025.
I went to the hospital on June 30th thinking I had a bad cold or something. Turns out my body was sepsis. They gave me dual IVs so both arms would be able to receive antibiotics. After a week of intense Iv antibiotics, I had a fever that wouldn’t go away. So they started running all the tests they could. They ran almost every type of test on me: lumbar puncture, COVID test, MRI, PET scan, CT, X-ray, etc.
But I still had a fever that wouldn’t go away, so they completed a groin biopsy. Another week passed, and it confirmed I had stage 3 lymphoma (cancer). I started chemo the next day. It broke the fever and my body had help to fight.
I was released from the hospital on July 19th, 2 days after I found out I had cancer. I got sent home with a $13k medical bill as a gift. This has been a great shock and strain to my family and I in so many ways. Not only has the financial toll been extremely taxing, but the mental and physical tolls it has taken on my body has been even worse. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone now that I’m walking in these shoes.
I’m currently on leave from work and will be until March 2026. I am asking if you are willing to donate anything in your heart so that I can focus on my recovery and truly have peace of mind with my financial health.
As I go through this journey, I’ve been blessed to have a very supportive mother, but it’s not fair to her for me to continue to ask her for financial support when she has her own household to support. So whatever is in your heart to give, I know from my belief in Jesus that it will be given back to you. But it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my story.
May God bless you ❤️
