El 6 de junio de 2024, nuestras vidas cambiaron para siempre cuando nuestro querido padre, Aristides San Juan Armas, sufrió un infarto al miocardio. Contra todo pronóstico, y a pesar de su edad, la descompensación y la deshidratación aguda, logró sobrevivir a este devastador episodio. Sin embargo, su corazón ahora solo funciona al 40% debido a una obstrucción en una válvula, lo que le provoca vértigos, calambres en las extremidades y cefaleas extremas, entre otras dolorosas afecciones.

Su médico nos ha dicho que la única esperanza para nuestro padre es una intervención quirúrgica urgente: un cateterismo con stent para destapar la válvula obstruida. Sin esta operación, el riesgo de un infarto fulminante es inminente. Aristides necesita reposo absoluto y una dieta estricta mientras espera ser ingresado en el quirófano, pero en Venezuela, los hospitales carecen de los insumos y la capacidad para realizar este tipo de operaciones especializadas.

Yo vivo en Estados Unidos desde hace dos años, y mi padre solo cuenta con el apoyo de su hermano en Venezuela. En medio de esta impotencia y angustia, les pido desde lo más profundo de mi corazón cualquier ayuda que puedan brindar. Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, es un rayo de esperanza para salvar la vida de nuestro padre y darle la oportunidad de seguir compartiendo su amor y sabiduría con nosotros. Aristides needs absolute rest and a strict diet while waiting to be admitted to the operating room, but in Venezuela, hospitals lack the supplies and the capacity to perform this type of specialized operations.

I have been living in the United States for two years, and my father only has the support of his brother in Venezuela. In the midst of this helplessness and anguish, I ask you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can give.
