Friends, Community, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Ari. I am a writer, researcher, and community organizer based in Seattle, dedicated to developing new pathways for healing justice and community care. For me, this work isn't just academic; it's rooted in my own lived experience as a queer, Two Spirit, Indigenous, and disabled person.
This past year of deep community engagement has been incredibly rewarding, but it has also taken a significant toll. The constant stress of frontline organizing, combined with the systemic pressures I navigate every day, recently triggered a serious mental health crisis.
This crisis led to an involuntary psychiatric hospitalization—a traumatic and destabilizing experience in itself. In the aftermath, I lost my housing, leaving me without the safe, stable foundation we all need to heal and thrive.
Right now, my most urgent need is to find a safe place to land. A place where my nervous system can regulate, and my body can begin to heal. A sanctuary where I can continue the work I am so passionate about—work that I believe contributes to our collective liberation.
This is where I need to ask for your help. I am reaching out to the community to ask for support in securing a small, stable home. Your contribution isn't just about paying rent; it's about becoming a partner in my healing and my work. It's an act of community care that will build the foundation for everything that comes next.
To get back on my feet and secure a safe home, I need to raise $8,000. I believe in full transparency, and I want you to see exactly how your support will be used to build this foundation of stability."
