3/17/25 Update:

Update 1/13/25:

Arianna officially completed week 1 of chemotherapy on January 12th. She'll be going back once a week outpatient for the next couple weeks then followed by another inpatient treatment stay. She tolerated the first "week" well at this point but we know this will be a very long road.

Plans changed In regards to Radiation treatment and Ari will now be having 6 days of outpatient Radiation at BSW Temple. The family hopes to begin this very soon.

Also, The end of the year full body PET scan, MRI of brain and repeat CT all showed no additional metastasis making Arianna's case still a stage II . Plans for treatment remain the same.

Matthew and Elissa would like to thank everyone for the donations, the prayers, support, and even meals that have been sent. You all have been a true blessing to the Hill family during this terrifying time .

Matthew and Elissa Hill are on a heartfelt journey to support their 7-month-old daughter, Arianna, as she battles a rare cancer.

Beginning in July 2024 Ari began to have reflux symptoms and was started on medication. Her symptoms did not improve despite diet and medication adjustments. During this time Arianna began to have breathing concerns as well. After multiple appointments and a couple ER visits she was said to have severe acid reflux and reactive airway disease. Her parents knew something wasn't right as symptoms did not improve with intervention. Arianna was first admitted at Texas Children's Hospital in November 2024 due to aspiration/penetration from the reflux. She was discharged for a few days only to be readmitted with pneumonia.

On December 6, 2024 Arianna had a chest ultrasound while inpatient for pneumonia and a 5cm tumor was found on her right kidney incidentally. It was at that time believed to be Wilms tumor. This tumor was pushing on her other internal organs causing the symtpoms she initially presented with. On December 13, 2024 the tumor and kidney were removed.

Pathology report on December 23, 2024 showed Ari has Stage 2 Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney. The medical team is now conducting scans to ensure there is no further spread.

The coming months will be challenging, but with unwavering faith in God, the family is trusting that all things are possible and that He is in control.

Matthew, Elissa, Ari, and their 3-year-old son will soon travel to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston/MD Anderson for a week of radiation treatments before returning to Texas Children’s in Austin for approximately seven months of chemotherapy.

Elissa and Matthew are currently on leave from work. Elissa's medical leave was exhausted due to having used the leave during maternity leave. Matthew will ultimately be returning to work.

The family is about to start a journey in which they will need all of the love, support, good vibes and prayers you can put out in to the world!
