Hello! My name is Ariel Calais. I am a local New Orleans resident who studies Marriage and Family Counseling at NOBTS. I serve and attend Safe Place Church/Lugar Seguro as well as Iglesia Bautista El Renuevo (my home church). These are mission-minded churches whose members love to share the gospel with others. For the past 2 years, I have been involved in international missions. It is a passion, and I plan to use my degree to help children and families from hard places.
I wanted to share with you an upcoming opportunity and a way that you can partner with me. In this season of my life, between semesters, I felt the Lord calling me to do more missions work. I recently served in Guatemala for a week, and it changed my perspective on how counseling can be used in the mission field. So, I am off to Guatemala again! I am partnering with a non-for-profit organization serving in different areas of Guatemala that minister to and support children and families with many needs. One Way Community ONG (San Lorenzo El Tejar). This ministry serves families and children in hard places. They supply school services such as tutoring, sports, and mentorship for school-aged students. Their community outreach efforts are open doors to share the gospel. These are the partners who have helped me realize just how many more hands and feet are needed not only for educational and mental health needs but to share the gospel. So, off to Guatemala I go! And this time, it will be for the whole summer. There are two ways that you can partner with me in my mission efforts for the summer: donations and lots of prayers. This is where you come in if the Lord leads you to help. I need to raise funds and gather resources for the work I will be helping these partners with. My goal is to raise $2,700.00.
Funds raised will cover lodging, transportation, food, supplies for the ministry, gas, and packing needs.
Prayers are needed as well: protection, provision for me as well as the organizations, safe traveling, guidance throughout this journey, and sponsors for smaller expenses back home while I am away. But most importantly, that God will be glorified, for hearts to be open to receive, for opportunities for the gospel to be shared, for healing within the families, and for all distractions to be put aside.
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Thank you for supporting the laborers as we plant seeds and harvest for the Kingdom.
Thank you so much for your time. Praying for every person who took the time to share this fundraiser with others or those who read the information. You are appreciated, and I am so grateful for your time and support.
May God Bless You and Keep You!
