I’m not sure where to begin, or how to start this.
For the past 6 months Ariel has been in and out of hospitals, the entire time no one could figure out what is going on with him. Only in the past month after many tests we found out that Ariel was diagnosed with a rare type of Leukemia JMML (Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia), a rare form of blood cancer. Our family was crushed.
This type of Leukemia only happens to 1 in a 1,000,000, the only solution was to go through a bone marrow transplant. The entire family went through compatibility tests and the perfect match is his older sister Yali who is 12 years old. We started the chemotherapy a month ago in order to destroy the immune system this took a huge toll on Ariel's body. After two weeks of chemotherapy the bone marrow transplant took place and now we are in waiting stages for the body to accept the transplant.
After the transplant Ariel has developed a complication called Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) its where the body rejects the transplant, Ariel has developed an allergic reaction to one of the medications that was given to him in order to aid with this, his organs started shutting down and we lost him for a few minutes the doctors performed CPR and moved him to the ER.
Once he left the ER after 3 days he was moved back to the bone marrow transplant ward and is still fighting the GVHD disease. This entire time Ariel is in quarantine because his immune system is very weak. He can't have any visitors besides his parents that are there 24/7 the hospital has become our home.
The doctors recommended that Ariel’s parents figure out their financial situation and what to do with employment since one of them will have to be with Ariel at all times. Shiri (Ariel's mother) left her job 6 months ago and his father Tomer has not worked in the past 2 months.
Ariel hasn't seen his brother and sisters in months!
This fund was created in order to assist with Ariel’s family’s dwindling finances. Please consider donating to Ariel's fund, sharing this story with others, and keeping Ariel in your prayers for a healthy recovery. Every penny and every share means more than you can ever know.
