Hi, I'm Arielle and I'm 37 years old. I am non-binary and use they/them pronouns. I am currently in the hospital at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. I have been here since December 2nd when I was brought in after passing out and having slept for three days. When I woke up, I had a massive headache and knew something was wrong.
I don't remember much of my first days in the hospital, but I do know that the doctors found an abscess growing in my brain near the area that controls movement on the left side of my body. The abscess was too dangerous for them to go in and remove completely because of where it was located. If they tried to do that, there was a very big chance that I would have been paralyzed on the left side of my body.
It took two trips to the OR to fully drain the abscess and I've been here on IV antibiotics since. What's making my situation harder is that my partner, my only real support system, passed away during open-heart surgery last September. We had no expectations at all of complications with his surgery, but they couldn't get his body to take over from the machines.
Since then, I've been living alone in our two-floor apartment and I haven't been able to take care of myself due to several medical issues. I'm getting ready to get discharged from the hospital and we need to have my apartment deep cleaned before it's safe for me to go back. That's going to run me about $600. On top of that, because I've been in the hospital for so long, I am also a month behind on rent. My rent is $1,800 a month.
Could you help me with this? I would be so appreciative.
