My niece Ariana was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a brain cancer, in September 2023 at 14 years old. It was inoperable.

She had done amazingly well for the first year and a half, tolerating chemo and radiation with few side effects. Other than hair loss, you’d never know she was sick. She continued school, hanging out with her friends and just being a normal kid.

April 1, 2025, things changed. She had her first seizure. Scans showed her tumor, which had been stable for some time, was growing bigger. The tumor had grown so big, her brain was beginning to herniate. She was sleeping all the time, had one sided paralysis and heartrate in the 20’s and 30’s. We thought this was the end.

At the 11th hour, they found a Dr that could operate and over 80% of the tumor was removed. She was back to her old self for maybe 2 weeks or so when she developed a massive infection at the incision site.

Ariana was hospitalized for 3 weeks and finally was able to go home. Unfortunately she never truly recovered. She remains on heavy antibiotics, she’s weak and has trouble walking. She has more surgeries lined up since the incision requires grafts. Her tumor is also growing again. We had hoped the surgery would keep it at bay for a while.

Ariana has remained the same positive, happy kid she always was. Always ready to greet you with a smile or a joke. I’m amazed every day at her great attitude

With all the surgeries, physical therapy, occupational therapy, chemo, radiation x 3. Bills are sky high and my sister and family sure could use some help. Please, if you can
