Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this. We are writing on behalf of our friend Ariadny, as her family is in need of support and community. Ariadny’s partner Esmith Gabriel Chica Useche passed away on Friday November 14th in a fatal car accident while working as a delivery driver. Gabriel was only 28 years old. 

Ariadny and Gabriel are originally from Venezuela, only moving to Colorado a few years ago. Back in San Cristobal, Gabriel’s mother and other family members are mourning the loss of their beautiful son, brother, and friend. We are fundraising in order to return his body to his loved ones so he can have a proper burial in his country of birth. 

Furthermore, Ariadny is now a single mother to four children, two of whom she and Gabriel had in the past two years. In losing her partner, Ariadny must now be both the primary caretaker and breadwinner of the family. This is obviously a heavy responsibility and requires lots of support, including financial. We are hoping to raise additional funds that can go towards helping Ariadny while she adjusts to a completely new way of life.

In times of grief, we lean on our community. Ariadny and Gabriel created a beautiful family together and welcomed many of us into their home for laughter and warmth. Gabriel was so kind. He gave great hugs and would offer up his own seat to any guest in his home. He was also always ready to listen to music and share laughs over a few beers. We are devastated by the loss of such a great young person, and we will do all we can to help the loved ones left in his absence.
