Aria is a beautiful little girl who draws in kindness from strangers everywhere she goes. At just 22 months old she is fighting a battle no child should ever face, despite this she still manages light up every room. Aria is the beloved youngest of her family of 4 and the treasured missing peace they all dreamed of for years.
When Aria was 4 months old, her parents noticed she would turn her gaze and lean her head to the right. As time and observation went on Aria developed a pronounced right sided torticollas (right sided head tilt). Little Aria would also experience excruciating pain when placed in certain positions such as the car seat or lying horizontally, along with head twitching, waking up crying and holding the back of her head. Her family have sat in waiting room after waiting room seeking answers from countless professionals, hoping to work out what their little girl is up against. Her current diagnosis is fourth cranial nerve palsy and an enlarged pineal glad with a cyst within her panel gland. And most devastatingly her recent MRI has revealed the development of lesions within her pineal gland and further increase in the pineal gland size.
This devastating news has crushed Aria's family as they are now looking at surgical intervention. On a good day Aria will speak clearly in three word sentences then suddenly regress with an increase in her symptoms, slurring her speech and unable to pronounce learned words, increase in frustration and drowsy for long periods upon waking. Aria's family feel time is of the essence to get her the help she so desperately needs.
Aria's mother and father have been working tirelessly, exhausting themselves financially and emotionally to get her this far in her journey to better days. Their big hope is to seek specialist neurosurgeons who operate on pediatric pineal glands using state of the art equipment and the least invasive techniques with the least amount of trauma possible. This may see them abroad for a period of time and the road to recovery for Aria is uncertain.
We're raising funds to ease the financial burden on this beautiful family. Your donations will go directly towards Aria's surgery, medical care, ongoing medical care, cranial and neck therapies, any recovery needs and allowing her family to stay fully present during this difficult time without the stress of financial strain.
Please consider giving - any amount helps. And if you're not in the position to donate sharing this page is just as powerful!
Let's bring our hearts together for Aria and her family with love, hope for better days and the support they so sincerely need right now.
With gratitude from Aria's grandmother and family.
