If you know me well then you know I’ve been working hard to establish a new residential design aesthetic in my community. In an effort to make a difference on a more meaningful level I’ve reconnected with my alma mater, The University of South Florida School of Architecture and Community Design and will be assisting in a summer semester design studio starting next week. The goal is to provide students with a real life design challenge that focuses its attention on proving that residential architecture; both more modern and historically relevant; can coexist in beautiful harmony. Diversity has always helped to establish the charm of Historical Hyde Park and in an effort to promote architectural inclusivity, I want to show the city of Tampa that Hyde Park, especially in its recently expanded historic boundaries, still has room to evolve.
I need your help raising $2700. $1500 will go towards a small scholarship to be awarded to the winning student’s home design while the other $200 will be added to the current $1000 that AADMIXX has contributed to help fund study materials, as-built models/renderings, and to produce a formal document outlining the study’s findings at the conclusion of the semester.
Every contribution helps so thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to lend a hand.
Creatively,
Tobin
