Hello everyone! We are starting this donation page to help support a miracle Husky named Archie! Archie was rescued from a high-kill "shelter" in Southern California where he was deadlined to be euthanized due to space. He was pulled by a fraudulent "rescue" only to be completely abandoned at a veterinary hospital to exist in a small cage for 8 months! He was found with an embedded collar and was never let out of his cage! If it wasn't for the persistence of the rescue community's efforts to locate Archie, he would have potentially spent his whole life there. He wasn't being seen, and he wasn't being marketed for adoption by anyone. Luckily, news spread quickly of Archie's story throughout the rescue community and thank goodness some awesome animal advocates gave him a second chance at life! Through our initial generous donation, Archie has been allowed the opportunity to go a behavioral training program with an amazing professional dog trainer. There, Archie has begun his journey to prepare for a forever home. Archie has been in training for three weeks now and has made amazing strides! He has learned to walk on a leash, learned recall, and even how to do tricks like "rollover!" Also, he is perfectly socializing with his dog buddies, and he is doing wonderfully with every human he meets. We are asking for donations to help cover the costs already incurred for the behavioral training program, the veterinary care required to address the embedded collar wound, and the necessary medication. In addition, we will need to garner donations for his ongoing care including a stay with his trainer until a home is found, other future medical needs that may arise, and necessary supplies. We have attached a few paid receipts as samples of what his care requires. We are not a rescue; so we would greatly appreciate anyone who can contribute to support Archie's journey thus far and until we can find him his "Fur-ever" home.
Here is a breakdown of some of the costs so far:
Transport: $125
Behavioral Training: $5,000 (first two weeks)
$1,365 (Through December 21st)
Food: $200
Veterinary care: $175 embedded collar wound care and $41 medication
Total: $6,906
[*NOTE: December 22nd another lump payment for the in-home stay with his trainer is due unless a home is found by then. We are determined to keep Archie out of caged boarding.*].
