Arthur (Archie) Argote, a dear friend and master VFX compositor, is currently in recovery after a major cardiac event. In mid-April, Archie was admitted to the hospital, which led to heart surgery on April 26th. Unfortunately, he later suffered a stroke and seizure in May, and for the past three months, he has been in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities as he works toward recovery. Despite these challenges, Archie is making remarkable progress, but he is facing dire financial straits. The mounting costs of his mortgage, HOA fees, and back taxes threaten his ability to keep his home, and he needs support to get back on his feet until he can return to work.

Archie's family and friends are incredibly grateful that he is still with us and making an amazing recovery. The nurses led me to him saying, 'He is so funny!' I found him playing chess in the activity room, cheering up another person, just as he often does. Archie has always brought joy to those around him, and his positive spirit shines through even in difficult times. The VFX industry has been hit hard by Covid slowdowns, strikes, and government subsidies that have taken post-production work out of Los Angeles. Archie has an impressive list of credits from over 30 years in VFX and has been a valued artist, crew member, and friend to many.
