Support Archer's Fight for Recovery
Donation protected
Hello to anyone who reads this, I am creating this Gofundme on behalf of my Nephew Archer and his family. My Brother and Sister-in-law are not the type to ask for help, and as I am the same way, I decided it was best to make this for them. Archer (my nephew) was at his brothers baseball game when an unexpected accident left him fighting for his life. Archer fell from the top of the bleachers and upon hitting the concrete it broke bones, dislocated his elbow and tore his brachial artery when a compound fracture sent his bone outsideof his skin. Thank God there were people nearby who were able to stabilize the arm and slow the bleeding enough until the Paramedics arrived. Without them we may not have him here today. Archer was rushed to the local Hospital in Mattoon where he was MedEvac'd on the helicopter to Springfield. After nearly 6 hours in surgery everyone was finally able to take a slight breath of relief. They put in pins, set bones, and even transplanted a vein from his leg to his arm to replace the damaged artery. I saw him a few days after the accident and he was in good spirits with what appeared to be positive signs of recovery from his surgeries. (2 weeks until we know if the surgery will give full function to his hand). Archer is now on a long road to recovery but everyone is hopeful it will be a full recovery with rehab. His Mom and Dad have been by his side every moment through this. I can't imagine what this traumatic experience would have been like for them. Now as they sit in the Pediatric ICU focused on their son's well being I am sure the bills are just beginning. I can only imagine the costs of surgeries, medical helicopter flights, travel back and forth to a hospital over 1 hour from home and the months of upcoming therapy. If you see this fundme and can help, please give anything you can... $1, $10, $20, etc as every Dollar Helps. This is the first time I have asked for funds on an app and am hopeful we can come together as a community to help a family in need to focus on the fight for health and not finances during this tragic time. Thank you!
