Help Save Archer: Our Loyal Companion Needs Lifesaving Surgery
Hi, my name is Yesenia but everyone calls me Jackie, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit.
Archer is our beloved 8-year-old Pitbull—more than a pet, he’s family. My son’s pup, my “granddog,” and the most loyal, cuddly, and intelligent companion I’ve ever known. Since my son travels often for work, Archer has been in my care, and he’s brought joy and comfort to our home every single day.
But just a few days ago, everything changed. Archer suddenly became still—no longer his playful, affectionate self. Concerned, we rushed him to the vet. After x-rays and an ultrasound, we received devastating news: Archer needs an emergency splenectomy (spleen removal surgery). The total cost is $10,000.
We’ve already spent $2,000 on diagnostics and initial care. And just when we thought things couldn’t get harder—I fell and fractured my back. I’ve just been released from the hospital and am unable to work. My son came home to care for me, and in doing so, lost his job.
We’re doing everything we can, but we simply can’t afford this surgery on our own. That’s why I’m asking, with all my heart, for your help.
