We are reaching out today to ask for your urgent help for a family we love dearly: Teddy’s nanny, Aracely and her two children, ages 5 and 16.

For years, Aracely has been a beloved member of our community. We were lucky enough to meet her a year ago and for this past year she has been Teddy’s absolute favorite person. The smile he gives her when she walks through the door is priceless and tells you everything you need to know. We love her dearly.

Aracely and her family were building a stable, happy life in Maryland. Her children are thriving in school, with her youngest having known no country other than the United States. They were a family working hard and contributing to our community.

That life was shattered when Aracely’s husband was detained by ICE while at work the week of October 6th.

A Difficult Decision and Immediate Need

Faced with her husband's detention and eventual deportation, Aracely has made a terrifying and heartbreaking decision: she and her children must return immediately to Honduras. She is making this urgent move out of fear that they will be detained next.

This is a devastating outcome for a family whose only goal was to seek a better, safer life. We are heartbroken for the fear and uncertainty they now face. While we hope they can eventually find silver linings in reuniting with family in Honduras, we know their sudden deportation comes with immense, unexpected costs.

Please know that every dollar raised will go directly to helping this family start over safely in Honduras and navigate the ongoing legal process.

We want to send Aracely and her children home on solid financial footing.

• Immediate Housing & Essentials: Support for finding temporary, safe housing upon arrival in Honduras, and the cost of replacing essential household items and clothing they are unable to pack.

• Legal Fees: Costs associated with her husband's ongoing case, application costs, document translation, and administrative fees.

• Interim Support: Funds for groceries, rent, and other immediate material needs as neither parent is currently able to work during this transition and legal limbo.

• Travel Costs: Expenses for their urgent travel back to Honduras.
