Every year April cares for hundreds of neonatal kittens in a very specialized way, taking in some of the most critical cases. She supports our local animal control, partner shelters as well as private citizens.

April generally provides specialized ICU care to these neonates who have been orphaned and abandoned. They typically arrive in very dire conditions in which they need critical care provided to them. Our Brooder Incubator has (literally) been a lifesaver for many thousands of kittens over the years providing a warm, humid environment for them to thrive. This year, with your help, we hope to upgrade our intensive care configuration to support a veterinary grade oxygen concentrator and compatible nebulizer. Respiratory distress is one of the leading causes of death in neonates and being able to provide breathing support for these little ones is crucial in their survival.
