Urgent Update: Today, April’s back broke where the cancer is located in her spine. She was in severe pain and was transported by ambulance. After evaluation, the medical team found signs of possible spinal cord compression. She currently has no muscle movement during a rectal exam and is unable to urinate, which are both serious neurological signs. She is heavily sedated and being transferred to Barnes for advanced care.
Please continue to pray, send positive thoughts, or hold space for April. This is a frightening development, and any support during this time is deeply appreciated.
Help Support April’s Multiple Myeloma Fight
Ten years ago today, April heard words no one ever wants to hear: “You have stage 1 multiple myeloma.” After seeking a second opinion, she learned it was actually high-risk smoldering myeloma, meaning no treatment was needed at the time — just careful monitoring to ensure it didn’t progress.
For a decade, April lived with regular scans, hope, and a watchful eye.
Unfortunately, that has now changed.
On November 10th, April received the official diagnosis of active Multiple Myeloma. She has already completed a PET scan and will have a bone marrow biopsy on Thursday to determine the stage and treatment plan. On December 1st, she will meet with her oncologist at Siteman Cancer Center to review the results and determine the best induction therapy before a stem cell transplant.
There is a long road ahead — treatments, appointments, travel, missed work, and unexpected expenses. But April is surrounded by an incredibly loving support system and is facing this fight with strength and hope.
This fundraiser will help support April with:
• Medical bills and treatment costs
• Travel and lodging for appointments
• Medication and supportive care
• Time away from work
Every donation, share, prayer, and positive thought means more to April than she can express.
If you’re unable to give, sharing this link or keeping her in your thoughts is a gift in itself.
Thank you for walking beside her.
All the positive vibes, prayers, and advice are deeply appreciated.
Together, we believe she can get through this.
