April's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

April is a single mom to her 5yo son, Brady and a second grade teacher at the sweetest little school in Bush, LA. Earlier this year April noticed a lump on her neck and a new level of fatigue she hadn’t experienced before. After months of pushing for more tests and waiting for doctors to hear her concerns, she made it to MD Anderson in Houston, TX where she was diagnosed with Stage 2b Unfavorable Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma on August 27th. Scans have shown that she has enlarged lymph nodes that are spread throughout her neck and chest. There is an intermediate risk of infertility with the chemo she will be on, therefore, chemo was delayed due to needing to freeze eggs for fertility preservation. She is set to begin her first round of ABVD Chemotherapy on October 4th and will be receiving treatments once every two weeks for 6 months. She will have to return to her doctor at MD Anderson in Houston every two months for follow up visits and scans.
