Support April Yost during her journey

Hi, my name is Kris Knight and I'm raising money for my friend and coworker, April Yost.

To know April is to LOVE HER. She is one of the kindest, funniest human beings that you will ever meet. If you don't already know her, she is a single mom to her 25 year old son, has 2 fur babies and loves sloths. April loves to laugh and is extremely compassionate.

April was officially diagnosed on 12/29/2023 with Hormone Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. On 1/10/2024 she was found positive for BRCA2 genetic mutation, increasing her risk of additional cancers in breasts and ovaries to over 50%

She is currently on hormone blocking injections to prevent her hormones from feeding the cancerous mass until surgery. April will undergo a Double Mastectomy and lymph node biopsy on 2/29/2024, and the pending results of the biopsy pathology will determine her need for chemo and radiation. Later this year she will have to undergo ANOTHER operation having her ovaries removed to help prevent hormone positive cancer recurrence.

As you can imagine, all of this is physically, emotionally and financially draining on anyone... even badass women, like April. So after a ton of arm twisting (for real, she is very stubborn ;) ) she has allowed me to set up this page so that we can all show our support for her.

Any amount is appreciated no matter how small. And for those who cannot financially donate, that is okay too. Keep April in your thoughts and prayers as she takes on this uphill battle. She needs all of the support that we can possibly give. Please note that April has made the decision that any money raised exceeding her medical bills will be paid forward to charity.
