If you’re reading this, you’re likely a family member, friend, co-worker, or someone who has had the pleasure of meeting April Gulick. For those who haven’t yet had the chance to know her, let me introduce you to an extraordinary woman. April is not only one of the kindest and most selfless people you could ever meet, but she is also an incredibly strong individual. Her life has been a testament to her generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others. April is a devoted mother, a dedicated teacher, and a cherished friend. She has a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. Whether it’s through her work as a teacher, where she inspires and nurtures her students, or in her personal life, where she is always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, April consistently puts others before herself. Her kindness is felt by everyone she encounters, and she has a way of brightening even the darkest days with her positive spirit and heartfelt empathy.

Today, I’m reaching out to share some difficult news. On May 16th, 2024, April was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and serious cancer that affects the bile ducts. This diagnosis is particularly challenging, requiring immediate and intensive treatment, including chemotherapy to shrink the tumors, with the hope of eventually moving on to surgery. The road ahead will be tough, and April will be unable to work due to the severity of her condition.

As someone who has always been there for others, this is our opportunity to be there for her. We are setting up this fund to provide support during this critical time. The funds raised will go directly to April, helping to cover medical bills, daily living expenses, transportation to and from appointments, clinical trials, and meals. Our goal is to relieve some of the financial stress so that April and her family can focus entirely on her health and her fight against cancer.

April’s selflessness and the positive impact she has had on so many lives make it more important that we come together now to support her. Every contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated and will make a real difference.
