Hello to everyone reading. Walking down memory lane I met one of my dearest friends almost 20 years ago, throughout this I have watched as she has opened her doors to EVERYONE around her, she lovingly opened her kitchen and has never looked back or regretted such kindness, I am one of those that has been helped with what is now my family, with that said, in a moment everything can change, and has changed. My family, April Fenk was struggling with pain for a while now, strong and stubborn, but we now have answers to that struggle. On Monday i had to rush April to the hospital, as she had a critical hemorrhage, which was almost fatal. Today we received confirmation, and a world of heartbreak. We received news of her prognosis. April has been diagnosed with stage IIIC2 neuroendocrine cervical carcinoma, and in diagnosing her they found an inoperable necrotic tumor measuring 9CM.
A little about April, she's a part of the amazing team at Latitude 29, and has been a successful part of the New Orleans service industry for upwards of 2 decades. She has 3 amazingly loving smart and beautiful boys, ages 5, 10, and 14. At this junction, however, she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, she will fight this as aggressively as the cancer itself is. As now, she will be doing radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy 5 days a week. "It takes a village" has become my mantra of late, so I am asking anyone that can, to please help in any way to keep these 3 boys living as they are accustomed. Happy and healthy, and to ensure their mother can focus on the fight ahead with no fear of losing home, while becoming more in debt with the medicals that are sure to follow. Anything donated will help during these times ahead.
