This is my girl Appa. She has malocclusion (her teeth don’t grow right, so she can’t eat hard foods or grind her teeth normally to keep them trimmed herself), and the malocclusion caused a cyst to grow under her chin, which was drained. But she’s picked out her stitches, staples, anything we put on her to keep it closed. We’ve been trying to get it to close on its own, but it won’t. She picked at it so bad that it’s open to bone. The cone helps her not touch it, but if the bone stays exposed, her jaw can rot. she’s probably going to have to be hospitalized at the vet's office when we go back to make absolutely sure that she can’t open it back up. We’ve been battling this issue for about 2-3 months, so I’m worried her jaw is at risk. i love my baby, even if she is “just a rat”.
