My name is Danica Chronister, and I’m raising funds to give my daughter, Anya Elizabeth, one last summer at a place that has meant so much to her.
Anya was diagnosed as autistic in July 2023. Since then, we’ve been working together to help her build confidence and navigate social situations in ways that work for her. As a parent, you hope to find spaces where your child feels comfortable, accepted, and able to grow. For Anya, that place has been Camp Classen.
Growing up as an 80s kid, I always dreamed of going away to summer camp, inspired by Nickelodeon’s Salute Your Shorts. In 2024, I realized that experience exists right here in Oklahoma, just 85 miles from our home in Edmond. When Anya attended for the first time, she came home more confident, more independent, and already asking to go back the next year.
This summer will be her third and final year at Camp Classen, as she ages out of the program. It will also be her second year in their two-week leadership program for teens ages 15–16. She looks forward to it every year, which makes this last summer especially meaningful and a little bittersweet.
The cost for the two-week leadership session is $1,500. I’m asking for support from family and friends to help make this final experience possible.

If you’re able to give, thank you. If not, sharing this would mean a lot. Every bit of support helps make this last summer one she won’t forget.
