Anton is a dear friend, and valued member of our Portland community. A deep lover of music and nightlife, he quickly made his mark on the scene here, both behind the bar and on the dancefloor. Anton has brought so much joy to so many people, and now is our opportunity to show up for him.
Last week Anton was in a terrible accident that left him very seriously injured. He has suffered a significant head injury, and he is currently in the ICU. He’s stable, and receiving excellent medical care. The most important thing right now is to keep him resting and give him time to heal. Unfortunately this means we won’t have a lot of details about the nature of his recovery for a while, a few weeks at least. We do know that his recovery will be a long, patient process spanning the next few months to a year. He’s young and healthy, and his family and his doctors remain optimistic about his recovery trajectory. While there are still a lot of unknowns, which is scary and frustrating for everyone involved, we can show up for Anton by supporting his family during this awful period of uncertainty.
Anton’s parents are doing their best to care for their son, all while traveling to and from the east coast, seeking temporary housing in Portland, covering Anton’s rent and bills, navigating heartbreak and overwhelm, and inevitably incurring an unfathomable medical bill. They are handling this situation with grace and love, and we want to help alleviate the logistical headache so they can focus on what’s important: Anton’s recovery. Contributions will go towards covering these expenses.
Any contribution will make a difference. Also, if you have a lead on any temporary month-to-month housing for two people (especially if it’s available ASAP), please reach out to Jordan & Jordan.
Thanks so much for your love and support.
