If you know Anton, you know that he is the absolute rock of our family. He does all that he can to support us and his three young kids are his everything.
This all started when he got a referral from his primary care doctor to go to a cardiologist due to family history. It was supposed to be a quick, easy one visit ordeal. However, they ran a few tests that showed several signs of concern. This lead to him having an angiogram done.
During the angiogram, they ended up finding both a 98-100% blockage as well as an 80% blockage. Due to the amount of blockage and risk factors, they ended the angiogram without placing any stents or taking any action. The surgeon said there would be a few options, the safest being open heart surgery.
Fast forward to today, we finally had his follow up appointment to figure out what the course of action would be. His doctor said they were amazed with what they found and never expected to see it, especially in an otherwise healthy 34 year old. After talking with him, hearing what he had to say, it doesn't sound like any of the cardiologists in town can handle his case very well.
We are being referred to a Dr in La Jolla, CA for treatment. While I feel confident that this is the best choice, it also comes with financial strain. We aren't 100% sure yet what medical will be covered under insurance, what co-pays, deductibles, etc will need paid. Everything raised here will go towards travel costs (gas, hotel, food while there), medical bills of any kind and hopefully help with any unpaid time missed from work.
Any amount will help and we are so grateful for any support!
