Support Anton's Fight Against Cancer

Hello everyone,

My name is Stjepan Japuncic and in June 2023, my brother Anton Japuncic, a close family member and friend to so many, was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

We all know Anton as a man of integrity, a man with the kindest heart and a man who has the special ability to put a smile on people’s faces and bring laughter and happiness to all the lives he touches. Anton definitely has a battle ahead of him, but with our support he will have the ability to explore advanced treatment options not offered in Canada.

Medical treatments for all types of cancer can be physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting. Brain cancer adds another layer of complexity as not all medications and treatments have the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier to treat the underlying tumor. Despite undergoing medical treatments in Canada, Anton will need advanced treatments over 12 to 14 weeks in both the United States and Mexico, to assist in his battle and achieve an ultimate goal of remission. The cost for the advanced treatments, lab testing & imaging, travel insurance, travel & accommodations, specialized care, and medications are going to be staggering and approximate $625,000 Canadian dollars. This GoFundMe campaign is to alleviate some of the financial burden for Anton so that he can solely focus on his treatments and healing.

Anton was reluctant to get support and did not want to burden anyone. However, we as his family, friends and community want to show him our support and offer what we can in any way. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will contribute to Anton’s treatment plan during this challenging journey.
