Antoinette Bacon has been a Fighter
I am trying to reach out to many of the co-workers, friends, family, and all of the people that my mom has known and helped. My mom, Antoinette Bacon, has been fighting MDS (blood cancer) and myelofibrosis (bone marrow cancer) for almost 4 years. She did chemotherapy for 2 1/2 years and platelet and blood infusions for 1 1/2 years.
After her last fall and hospital stay, she has decided that she is tired and has gone on hospice. Due to her types of cancers, the need for hospice in a facility, instead of hospice at home, has been decided. She will be residing at West Haven Assisted Living and then transferred to West Haven Acute Care when the time comes for end-of-life hospice care. With the types of cancers my mom has, without platelets and blood, there is no telling how long that will take.
I wanted to reach out to a very special group of people that have meant so much to my mom and me.
I have created this GoFundMe to help with facility costs. If any of you would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated, but most importantly, thank you for all of the happiness and kind words that were always given to her.
Sincerely,
Debbie Wood
