Hello, we are Antionette & Tyler asking for the assistance of our community after a sudden tragedy has happened.
On the morning of August 19th, we were abruptly awoken with our apartment being filled with smoke and the sounds of yelling from outside. We were thankfully able to exit our home, which was under the current burning apartment. Although, we are hopeful to recover some of our belongings, we have been guaranteed a major loss of items and even more so, our home for the last 5 years.
As you can imagine, this situation has left me in a state of shock, and with nothing but the clothes on my back. We’re now in urgent need of support and the renter’s insurance we pay for through the leasing office will NOT be paying out anything, since we were not at fault for the fire. The alarms did NOT go off for the building nor for anyone's apartment.
The fire also caused irreparable damage to personal items like our computers, important documents, and all our clothing and more.
We never imagined we would be in this position, but the kindness of others is our only option right now. Your generous donations will go directly toward:
• Essential Needs: Clothes, toiletries, and other basic items.
• Transportation: Getting to work, appointments, and other daily needs.
• Rebuilding Our Lives: Any additional support to help me recover and replace lost items.
