Hi everyone,

My brother Anthony is currently recovering from a very serious surfing accident where he was knocked unconscious, fractured his C2 vertebrae, a critical bone in the neck, and tore several surrounding ligaments. We are beyond grateful he is still with us, largely thanks to Steven and Garen, two of Anthony’s good friends who safely pulled him out of the water when he was temporarily paralyzed. Incredibly, Anthony has no long-term paralysis or other major neurological complications, but he has a long road to recovery.

Anthony works as a Sawyer on the Golden Eagles Hotshot Crew, a wildland firefighting team. Like many firefighters, he relies on overtime pay during fire season to get through the year. Unfortunately, because this injury happened outside of work, he isn’t eligible for workers’ compensation and won’t be able to return this season.

I’m working with Anthony’s friends to help raise funds to cover his medical and living expenses until he can get back to doing what he loves next year. Any contribution means so, so much to us, so please consider donating or sharing this link to help spread the word!
