Hi, my name is Sue and I’m fundraising for my 5 year old great-nephew, Anthony. On Monday, April 8th, Anthony had a stroke which affected his right extremities and his speech. He is currently in Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and will be moved to St. Charles inpatient rehabilitation, hopefully sometime this week. After extensive testing, unfortunately, the doctors still don’t have a definitive cause for the stroke. His parents need to get testing done now to see if there is a Protein A genetic component. If this is the case, not only is Anthony at future risk, but so are his parents and two younger siblings. Right now both of his parents have taken a leave from their jobs. Dad is running out of paid time and Mom is on an unpaid, indefinite leave. Any amount, large or small, will go a long way in helping the family with medical expenses.
