Support Anthony’s Healing Journey ❤️

I have created this fundraiser in honor of my dad, Anthony Soler, who has had the toughest year of his life. On April 10th 2024, he lost his beautiful wife Cecilia Soler whom he was married to for 29 years. She passed away due to complications from a very aggressive cancer treatment. She fought a very hard fight with Hodgkin’s lymphoma on and off for 15 years before passing away. Anthony and Cecilia, my parents, were soulmates. They were best friends. They were each others everything. When I say soulmates, I don’t mean that lightly. I have never seen two people love each other more. Anthony took Cecilia’s passing really, really hard. Since her passing, he has been fighting a lot of mental health battles such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, and grief. Shortly after losing my mom, my dad lost his mom. Though she was in her 80s, this was a hard loss due to it not even being a month after losing his wife. Fast forward a few months to January 2025 and Anthony suffered two heart attacks. He quite literally had a broken heart after losing my mom. He had two surgeries and made a full recovery. During this time, he also learned he was diabetic. This was quite a lifestyle adjustment and he fell deeper into depression. He had to spend time in the hospital for treatment after the heart attacks despite his PTSD from the hospital due to my mothers passing. This man stayed so strong throughout it all.

Now, here we are almost at one year since the passing of my mom. On April 6th 2025, Anthony checked himself into urgent care for an infected cut on his toe where he then was directed to rush to a hospital. At the hospital, he learned due to his diabetes, they would have to amputate his toe to prevent the infection from spreading to his foot or leg. Now, Anthony has lost his wife, his mother, and a body part. He had two successful surgeries for the amputation and still needs one more to help increase blood flow in his body and fix some narrowing of an artery to reduce the risk of infection. As his daughter, I have supported him in all the ways that I am able to, however, my financial means restrain me from helping him with all of the bills he has while he is going to be recovering from this amputation. He will have to miss work for a minimum of 6 weeks, but only has enough sick days to cover two of those weeks. He lives in a one bedroom apartment with his two dogs who are his world. Some days, they eat better than he does. My dad always puts everyone above himself and for once, I really hope for him to put himself first without having to worry about anything else. I am praying for him to recover without having to worry about how he is going to pay the bills. I am a full-time graduate school student and also work full-time with special needs children. I provide everything for myself and usually break even with bills and rent every month, with not much left to spare to help out my dad. We are not ones to ever ask for help, and if he knew I was doing this, he would probably not be on board with it at all but, it is in his best interest and as his daughter, i’m making that hard call because I love him more than life and he’s all i’ve got. He deserves to heal without worry. He deserves to prioritize his health, physical and mental, and not worry about bills for once while he is healing.
