Anthony is a 34yr old loving Daddy, Son & Brother. He's survived thyroid cancer 10 years ago & after the Thyroidectomy he was to take meds the rest of his life. He was clearly not doing so and suffered a Myexdema
coma as a result, ending him in the ER Monday night. As you can expect expenses are extremely high. He's expected to be in CVICU though at least next the end of next week as he is still on ECMO. If you are inclined and able our family sure could use your help. Thank you, updates on progress are below, his loving mom, Liz
20:00 Saturday 5-24-25 update:
He had a rough night last night. The port in his leg had his whole left side swollen. They took out all iv's and the port (moved to his neck) and moved them to the right side. He had 4 pints of blood as the ecmo depletes the red blood cells. White count is still very high. Hes on Synthroid IV as well. Hes also now positive for MRSA and Sepsis. He's on a lot of iv fluid and broadspectrum antibiotics to attempt to combat this. CT showed no aneurysm in the leg where the port was (good news). He's off the vent and on liquid diet. He's able to swallow, and softly speak. Keep praying it's working. HCA Florida has been amazing taking care of him and very literally saving his life. Can't be more grateful. #Godisgoodallthetime
1802 **UPDATE** 5-23-25 diagnosis from Dr. Harrell is Myxedema coma (explanation below) is a rare, life-threatening endocrine emergency that occurs when thyroid hormone regulation is disrupted. It's the most severe form of hypothyroidism and is often fatal, even with treatment. Myxedema coma is most common in older women during the winter months, and often affects patients with a history of hypothyroidism. HE WAS NOT TAKING HIS SYNTHROID FOR A COUPLE MONTHS!!!!! TAKE YOUR MEDS PEOPLE!!
1649 5-23-25 **UPDATE**
He's extubated. He can talk like a whisper. Took him off fentynl IV, baby steps. Looks much less swollen this afternoon. Hopefully first part of next week he can come off of ecmo.

It's going to be a long road to full recovery but my son Anthony Walker is with us and has brain activity. He'll be on ecmo for a while still being kept sedated to heal his lungs but God saved him! YOUR PRAYERS SAVED HIM.
When they brought him out of sedation to test for brain activity he wrote with a marker. "What's happening & from when what"
I appreciate everyone asking "what can I do to help" honestly, funds. John Walker, Amanda Marie Bonham and I took off work and came across country. Expenses are mounting FAST. so If you're inclined and able to help, it is much appreciate $lizwalker1970 cashapp, @lizwalker1970 venmo
